Today the traffic is especially atrocious for some reason. It really makes me frightened of what is happening in Mumbai with the exponential increase in personal vehicles, many of which are too large for most of the small lanes. For most of Bandra this is how the roads looked today with almost no one moving for 10 minutes at a time. People finally started getting out of their taxi's or rickshaws and walked (as did we). And the media is even paying attention to this as well - the other day on the front page of the paper it talked about cars parking on the sidewalks due to lack of space. Now this really is an issue -- especially considering we don't have too many sidewalks to begin with!
