Victoria Terminus

In the British days, this station was called Victoria Terminus. Today it is still called VT informally, but all signs and station maps will call it CST, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. Built in the old Gothic style in 1888 it is now classified as a World Heritage Site. One of the few "tourist" sites in Mumbai. Posted by Picasa

its cos it's british! the downtown area near VT has a lot of old gothic style buildings that were built during the british occupation, so its feels very different than the rest of Mumbai. Its also where all of the tourists stay - they usually don't venture too far outside of the old "british" area!

yes it is a very unusual building for Mumbai, I tend to prefer the simple yet colorful run down buildings that Mumbai has. If I ever visit I would not stick to the British area but explore the real character among the people and street vendors!
