Last night and this morning the roads were covered in the colored powder, but after the torrential downpours we've had today its all washed away!

Actually color powder is used to express joy. Earlier it was only pinkish red powder that was used. These days synthetic powder will variety of colors is used.
It is thrown is air and put on faces of people to make them look colorful and express their gratitude to share the festival.
Beautiful colors !!!
