Ganpati: The grand finale

It has already begun. The roads are empty of cars, but full of people pushing their Ganpati carts! The fireworks are being set off all over, the chanting "Ganpati Bappa Moriya" and bells - its the grand finale! Here's a shot of Juhu beach before it even got crowded! (i'm sure i'll have more photos tomorrow if any come out in dark!)

I have been reading your blog since I have learnt that I am about to be seconded to Mumbai. It has certainly provided me with an insight that no travel book would be able to. I would like to make contact with you so that I can ask you specific questions. You can mail me at: willisw@smollan.co.za, as it does not give your contact details on the Blog.

hey - I didn't see you at Juhu Beach!! Guess that's not surprising with the thousands and thousands of other people that were also there...LOL! Didn't get down there til after 6pm, but saw some really big, beautiful Ganeshas!

The Ambedkar Rd (1) Ganesh is my favourite in your photos. Wish I could have got a picture of the one I saw the other day in a truck full of beautiful ladies - it was all white and silver - definitely one of the prettiest I've seen!!

See you soon. Lori
