world AIDS day mumbai - part une

this is a street sign on the eastern express highway posted by local mumbai government.
I am using my time to post pics related to World AIDS Day observed this Friday, December 1st. I will make it a AIDS awareness week on mumbai blog. Hope slaint does not mind my propaganda posting! or you the viewers.

I am working with an NGO providing HIV + individuals in Mumbai, with counseling, nutrition and medical support. As well, providing family members with training for tailoring, embroidery, mehendi application and paper bag making. www.sahasforlife.org

There are controversy on the numbers, so India is either 1st or 2nd in total number of people living with HIV (2nd to sub saharan africa) depending on whose data you believe, none the less don't waste time arguing let's do something about it.

Interesting information. I do wonder what the country stats would be like if we had "true numbers", especially from China.

Important message, and I like the logo and the sign.

education the best "social vaccine" for HIV/AIDS. since there is not cure as of yet.

yeah, the numbers are estimates based on Antenatal clinic prevalence rates, that is how they estimate prevalence for the general population.

Who knows how many people are living with disease and have not been tested. of yeah, as in China's case, don't want to admit to the world how many are infected. a bit scary.

no did not see riots. was in chembur and ghatkopar east, areas they said there was rioting going on.
even drove home, during 'bundh' was nice, roads were empty. so surprised usually at 5pm, traffic is awful.

thankfully I did not see rioting!
