child labor
Only after looking back at this photo was I struck by this boy's expression. In person he seemed relatively happy to have his photo taken, but here he looks like he's about to cry. Child labor is a harsh reality here all the time, but it seems to be especially prominent during the summer break when schools are closed (now).

The picture says a lot, and I'm glad you don't just show the nice side of your town, but give a realistic impression.
Do you know how old the boy is?
no, but i'd say maybe about 10 -12 years old. he was quite small, but they tend to be smaller than western kids, so i have a hard time estimating their ages!
he does look sad...what are those leaves that he's selling?
Sad to think how kids are faring in different parts of the world. While this kid is trying to make a living instead of enjoying his youth, our kids here are having the time of their lives.
This is a great photo! Thanks for sharing this with us.
The picture is plenty of sadness but it's a great one. It could be in the Geo magazine!
