Bohri women
I've been told that women wearing these type of clothes are Bhori (edit: Bohri) muslims, but after fruitless searches online I still know nothing about them! I think they look adorable. I was excited to find this line of them waiting to cross the road in Marine Lines. I ask the viewers to please give me more information on this!

It's a great picture. I love that the gentleman is holding the baby!
Bohris are an off-shoot of Islam; The ladies of the sect dont wear black niqabs like muslim women, but go for more colourful versions of the same.
This is a great shot. Kudos!

There's a large community of Bohras in Mumbai and Gujarat. Many of them are into business/trade and some have the (much-coveted by me at least) -wala suffix to their name, eg. cementwala, karachiwala. And, in personal experience, Bohri aunties make a sinfully-good mutton dum biryani.

Great site. I spent 33 years of my life in Mumbai before coming here 36 years ago. I visit there often and come back with sadness. It used to be a cleaner and prettier city. You certainly show a great deal of empathy for the local population and customs. You will find a lot of info about the Bohra's at: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/intro/islam-bohra.htm
Enjoy your stay in Mumbai.
