Today Salman Khan's sentence was upheld and he might spend the next 5 years in jail. See news here. This is the second Bollywood star in as many days dealing with jail sentences. The other is Sanjay Dutt who was just released yesterday due to a technicality....

Non-bailable arrest and he has to do his 5 years, that will be hard for all his fans, family and friends. I`m not a indian and I do not understand the laws in india, but is a deer more worth then ......? Five years inprisionment for poaching is a bit harsh, even as set as a example.
And maybe he has more to come, besause of the drink and driving a fence! Waiting 8 Years for the court to decided is a long time.
yeah i'm not sure if the one offense is worth 5 years (although I am an animal lover!), but I think as he continues to display this same behavior one could gather that he hasn't learned from his experiences. In that way, I do think he needs to serve his time. Compared to Sanjay Dutt's sentence its quite harsh. But Salman is quite cocky and might need a little something to show him that he's not invincible even though he's a star.
Uhoo... I also thought five year ofr poaching was a bit though but from the article you are linking he seems to be a repeat offender AND to have a hit-and-run (one dead, several wounded) on his conscience. Hmmm. Godd that nobody is above the law.
