Just discovered your blog a couple of days ago and love your images!!!!
You have to make sure your flip flops (or pluggers as they are known in Australia) are in perfect working order before tackling water deeper than your ankle
i've broken many 'perfect' shoes walking in these waters. now at the slightest pull of the shoe, I just go barefoot like half of Mumbai does on a daily basis! (however, i do not really recommend it!)
