Happy Holi!

We got out a bit later this year than we did last, so we only got to play for a bit! But this boy, one of whom we played with last year, was all joy again! Happy Holi from Mumbai Daily Photo!

healing ring?

I see a lot of people wearing rings like this, but with different stones. I was told once that they are given by spiritual advisors to help a person cope with certain aspects in their life. Is this right?! What would this ring/color signify?

Fusion dance

Tonight we went to see our friend Veve dance at the NCPA in town. She is a trained belly dancer (middle) and teaches here. However, she also takes classical Indian dance and this show was a fusion between belly dancing and Kathak dance. Beautiful show!

Altered Economist!

Today I had some time to go through last week's Economist and noticed that the map of India referenced in one article had this blue stamp over it. It is obviously not printed by the Economist, which means that the Indian Govt went through each and every one of these before they were mailed.. Crazy. No wonder it was several days late and the package was already opened! (Of course those things dont surprise me as the mail isn't to efficient here!)
